🎯Performance Creator Marketing

From Creator Content to Measurable User Acquisition: How GOTAP Works

by GOTAP Team on October 12, 2026

See how creator-powered user acquisition works at GOTAP, from creator-driven discovery and user choice to MMP attribution, CPI/CPA performance, and ongoing optimization.

Creators and performance marketing are often treated as two separate parts of the marketing mix.

Creator content can generate attention and discovery, while user acquisition teams need something more concrete: measurable installs, conversion events, attribution, and performance they can evaluate alongside their existing channels.

GOTAP brings those two worlds together.

The model uses creator content to drive discovery while keeping campaign measurement connected to the advertiser’s existing mobile measurement partner (MMP). Creators don’t directly promote a specific app. Instead, they invite their audience to discover their partnered apps through a neutral CTA.

From there, users decide what interests them, while advertisers can measure the resulting acquisition through their MMP.

So how does that journey work from beginning to end?

1. It starts with the campaign setup

Before creator content enters the picture, the campaign needs a clear performance framework.

The advertiser and GOTAP define the relevant campaign details, including the target geographies, budget, performance model, and the KPI or conversion event the campaign will work toward.

Campaigns can operate on performance-based models such as:

  • CPI, where the agreed action is an install.
  • CPA, where performance is tied to an agreed post-install conversion event.

Tracking is then set up through the advertiser’s MMP. GOTAP works with MMPs including AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular, and Branch.

This gives the campaign a measurable foundation before traffic starts flowing.

2. Creators drive discovery through organic content

Once the campaign is ready, creators become the discovery layer.

But there is an important distinction between the GOTAP model and a traditional direct app promotion.

Creators do not mention, recommend, or directly promote a specific advertiser’s app.

Instead, creators publish organic content that fits naturally within their usual content and audience. They use a neutral CTA inviting users to discover their partnered apps.

For example:

“Check my partnered apps in the link in bio."

The purpose of the content is therefore not to convince the audience to download one particular app.

It is to create a discovery opportunity.

The creator introduces the pathway; the user decides whether to explore it.

3. The neutral CTA leads to the creator’s GOTAP page

When someone follows the creator’s CTA, they are taken to that creator’s GOTAP page.

This is the bridge between creator content and the acquisition journey.

Rather than sending the user directly from creator content to a specific advertiser, the GOTAP page displays four apps.

The user can explore the available options and decide which one interests them.

That distinction matters because the creator is not making the app choice for the user or directly endorsing one specific advertiser.

The journey looks like this:

Creator content → neutral CTA → GOTAP page → four apps → user choice

4. The user chooses what interests them

Once users reach the GOTAP page, the next action is theirs.

They can look at the apps available on the page and choose the one they want to explore.

If an app catches their interest, they can continue to the relevant app destination and decide whether to install it.

This creates a different relationship between creators and acquisition.

The creator drives discovery, while the user drives choice.

For the advertiser, however, that journey still needs to result in something measurable. That is where attribution comes in.

5. The advertiser’s MMP connects discovery with performance

The acquisition journey is tracked through the advertiser’s MMP.

When a user chooses an app through the GOTAP experience and completes an attributed install or relevant post-install event, that result can be measured through the advertiser’s existing attribution setup.

This means UA teams don’t have to evaluate creator activity only through metrics such as views, reach, or engagement.

They can look at acquisition and post-install performance through the same measurement environment they already use for their other UA activities.

Depending on the campaign objective, this can include installs and relevant post-install conversion events.

The result is a clearer connection between creator-driven discovery and measurable user acquisition.

6. Performance is tied to the agreed campaign model

Measurement also connects directly to how GOTAP campaigns operate commercially.

Rather than paying creators based on individual posts, views, or reach, GOTAP campaigns work with agreed performance models such as CPI or CPA.

With CPI, performance is based on attributed installs.

With CPA, the campaign can instead focus on an agreed post-install conversion event.

The exact event and commercial terms depend on the campaign, but the principle remains the same: the model is built around measurable performance rather than creator exposure alone.

7. Performance data informs what happens next

Launching the campaign is not the end of the process.

As results begin to accumulate, the advertiser’s MMP provides visibility into performance against the agreed campaign KPIs.

That performance data can then inform campaign optimization as the campaign progresses.

For UA teams, this is what turns the creator layer into something they can evaluate within a broader acquisition strategy: there is a measurable connection between the initial discovery experience and the performance events that follow.

Where does GOTAP fit in the UA mix?

GOTAP is designed to complement an advertiser’s existing UA mix, rather than replace the channels already working for them.

It introduces another route to user acquisition: creator-driven discovery connected to performance measurement.

The creator side provides the discovery environment.

The GOTAP page gives users choice.

The advertiser’s MMP provides measurement.

And the agreed CPI or CPA model connects that journey to a performance objective.

Put together, the flow is straightforward:

Creator organic content → neutral CTA → creator’s GOTAP page → four apps → user choice → app destination → install or agreed conversion event → MMP attribution and measurement

Creator-driven discovery. User choice. Measurable acquisition.

FAQ

What is creator-powered user acquisition?

Creator-powered user acquisition is a performance channel where creators publish neutral content that sends users to a GOTAP page, users pick an app, and installs and events are tracked through your MMP and billed on CPI or CPA.

Do creators talk about my app in their content?

No. Creators use a neutral call to action that sends people to their GOTAP page, which displays four apps. Your app is one of the options, but it is not named or reviewed in the content itself.

How do you track and attribute installs from GOTAP?

We use your MMP tracking links (AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular or Branch). When a user selects your app on the GOTAP page, the journey is tracked through your MMP tracking link. If the user installs and opens, your MMP attributes the install and post-install events to the GOTAP media source.
